During his residency, he served as the Chief Podiatric Resident of the Limb Salvage Service, Division of Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He has experience in all aspects of foot and ankle care. Special areas of training include: Internal fixation of fractures, Arthroscopic surgery, and major reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Areas of clinical research are rheumatoid arthritis, equinus deformity in diabetes mellitus, and sports injuries in rock climbers. Dr. Nishimoto has lectured at national meetings regarding rheumatoid foot reconstruction and advanced reconstructive procedures of the foot and ankle.
