Dr. Berghout’s training has been extensive and comprehensive in all aspects of foot and ankle care, from diabetic wound care and plastic intervention, to trauma, sports medicine and elective reconstructive surgery.
After completing his undergraduate studies at Weber State University, Ogden, Utah, Dr. Berghout received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California.
Dr Berghout completed a two year Podiatric Surgical Residency program at Monrovia Community Hospital in Monrovia, California. He also received training in complex forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle reconstruction at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Doctor’s Hospital of West Covina ,Methodist Hospital of Southern California and Arcadia Outpatient Surgery Center.
Dr Berghout also participated in the Baja Project for CrippledChildren which specializes in the conservative and surgical treatment of congenital pediatric foot disorders such as clubfoot.
Returning to the Northwest has been the desire of Dr. Berghout and his wife, Angela, and three children, Brianna, Nathan and Olivia.
